Spokane Shock News Release

The Spokane Shock announced today that OL/DL Jerome Stevens has been assigned to their 2007 roster by the arenafootball2 League Office.

Stevens is the first player from the 2006 ArenaCup Champion roster to re-sign with the Shock for the 2007 season. Last season, Stevens started in all 13 games he played in and tallied 13.5 tackles (9 of them solo) and 2.5 sacks on the season. In the playoffs, he accounted for two more tackles including one for a ten-yard loss.

"Jerome returning is a very important step in our rebuilding," said General Manager Adam Nebeker. "He was one our of biggest leaders on defense last year and now that he's committed to playing in Spokane again, we're going to see many more key players from last year follow suit."

The Shock's growing roster now totals four players under new Head Coach Adam Shackleford, who was "very happy" with the latest edition.

"Jerome is one of those players who makes an impact on every play," Shackleford explained. "He was a real leader on the line last year, and we expect him to continue that role in the upcoming season."

The Shock will begin their quest to defend the Championship on Saturday, March 31st as they host the Stockton Lightning. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462.
