Detroit Shock News Release

Detroit came out slow Sunday, trailing by as many as 25 points in the first half, but stormed back to beat Los Angeles 79-73 at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The triumph, which ends a four-game Shock slide, is the biggest comeback win in WNBA history. Head Coach Bill Laimbeer stated, "I told them in the huddle this is the lowest point they're ever going to have with their franchise, there's nowhere to go but up, that's when we were down 25, so fortunately they dug in, and they competed." Deanna Nolan led the way with 22 points, nine rebounds and three steals, while Cheryl Ford racked up 15 points and 15 boards.
