
Shock lend a hand to Wishing Star Foundation

The Spokane Shock announced today that they are teaming up with Ben and Jerry's to benefit the Wishing Star Foundation.
Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops across the country -- and around the world - have chosen April 25th as "Free Ice Cream Scoop Day" with the proceeds of the event benefiting a local charity of choice. The Wishing Star Foundation was chosen locally for the Spokane Ben & Jerry's, located in the River Park Square Mall.
Shock players will be on hand scooping out free ice cream from 1:30 - 2:15 PM alongside other local celebrities including Miss Spokane 2006 Kayla Best, the Lilac Queen and her Court and others. Immediately following this portion of the program, Shock players will be on hand for an autograph session from 2:15 - 3:00 PM.
The Wishing Star Foundation will have donation jars on hand throughout the day with all proceeds benefiting their Foundation.
About Wishing Star: Since 1983, Wishing Star is working on the 1000th wish for local children throughout eastern Washington and Idaho. The foundation is proud to report that 76% of funds go directly to the children's wishes with only 5% going to administrative expenses and 19% for fundraising.
