Spokane Shock News Release

The Spokane Shock and WSF Financial are teaming up to help fight autism. On September 13th, WSF Financial is hosting their fourth annual charity golf tournament at "The Fairways" Golf Course, 9810 W Melville Rd, to benefit the Northwest Autism Center.

Members of the 2006 ArenaCup Champion Spokane Shock, including Kyle Rowley and Rob Keefe, will be participating in the tournament that will begin at 11 AM with registration. In conjunction with the tournament, the Shock will donate several premium items from its Championship season to be auctioned off during the registration process.

Last year, the tournament raised $35,000 and tournament organizers are hopeful that they will reach this year's goal of raising $50,000 to benefit the Northwest Autism Center.

"This is a great cause that we are proud to help support," General Manager Adam Nebeker said. "This is a chance for us to give back to the community that gave us so much support during our inaugural season."

The NAC currently operates from office space donated by the Arc of Spokane, and the success of the Center is dependent on community support. This event is their largest annual fund-raiser and the proceeds will directly impact the lives of the children, adults and the families who rely on and benefit from the services they provide.
