
Shock Assigned Veteran Defensive Back Andre Jones

SPOKANE, WA (March 18, 2015) - The Spokane Shock have been assigned defensive back Andre Jones to the 2015 roster.
Jones (5-11, 200, Akron) joins the Shock for his fifth season as a member of the Arena Football League. Starting the 2014 season as a member of the first-year franchise Los Angeles Kiss, Jones started in six of the team's first seven games and recorded 41 total tackles (38 solo), one tackle for loss, two interceptions, and 14 pass break-ups. After being released by the Kiss in May, Jones finished the 2014 AFL season with the Pittsburgh Power and would start in four of the six contests he participated in while registering 14 total tackles (13 solo), one interception, and one pass break-up.
During the 2013 AFL season with the San Antonio Talons, Jones recorded a team-high 77 solo tackles (85 total) with four interceptions, and 11 pass break-ups in 18 games. In 2012 as a member of the San Jose Sabercats, Jones recorded 77 total tackles (65 solo) with 13 pass-breaks, five interceptions, and two touchdowns. As a rookie in 2011 with the Milwaukee Mustangs, he recorded 65.5 total tackles (60 solo), 14 pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, 12 interceptions, and three touchdowns.
"We're excited and feel extremely fortunate to be able to add a veteran defensive back this late in training camp with time to get him in the mix prior to the start of the regular season," said Shock Head Coach Andy Olson. "Jones has a lot of great experience under his belt and has matched up against some of the toughest receivers in this league, he'll make a great addition to our roster."
Jones will join the Shock this week as the team finishes its final week of training camp prior to the start of the 2015 AFL regular season as they prepare for a Week 1 match up on the road against the Rattlers.
The Shock hosts the home opener for its tenth electrifying season and dollar night against the Philadelphia Soul on Saturday, April 4 at 7 p.m. at the Spokane Arena (720 W Mallon).
