SPOKANE, WA (January 5, 2015) - The Spokane Shock have been assigned offensive lineman Larry Banks to the 2015 roster.
Banks (6-4, 315, Louisiana Tech) joins the Shock for his rookie season as a member of the Arena Football League after completing his collegiate career at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA. During his two seasons with Louisiana Tech Banks played in 21 games, starting in 9 of those contests. In his first season in 2012, Banks helped an offensive line that finished the year ranked seventh in the nation in sacks allowed, 17th in rushing offense, fourth in passing and first in total offense and scoring. Prior to transferring to Louisiana Tech, Banks attended Copiah Lincoln Community College (MS) as he helped guide the Wolves to a 2010 MACJC state championship appearance and 15-5 overall record over two seasons.
"We were very impressed with what we saw out of Banks on film," said Shock head coach Andy Olson. "He's an extremely aggressive offensive lineman and we're excited to see how he translates to the arena game."
The Shock's 2015 AFL regular season will officially kick off on Saturday, March 28, 2015 against the ArenaBowl champion Arizona Rattlers in Phoenix, AZ. Spokane's first home game will come on Saturday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Spokane Veteran's Memorial Arena against the Philadelphia Soul.
