
Shock Announce Week 8 Kickoff Time Change

SPOKANE, WA (February 4, 2015) - The kickoff time for the Shock-SaberCats game on Saturday, May 16 has been changed from 7:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. PST at the Spokane Arena. The game was changed in consideration of the Spokane Lilac Festival parade and events later that same evening. Doors at Spokane Arena will open one hour prior to kickoff at 3:00 p.m. PST.
The Week 8 matchup between Spokane and San Jose will be the first of three National Conference matchups during the 2015 AFL regular season. The current pre-season Sabercats roster features former Shock quarterback Erik Meyer and wide receiver Adron Tennell, both of whom were assigned to the San Jose roster during the 2014 free agency period.
The May 15-17 weekend also serves as the culmination of the Spokane Lilac Festival. Celebrating 77 years of civic pride in the Spokane arena, the Spokane Lilac Festival hosts the largest Armed Forces Torchlight Parade in the nation.
Saturday, May 16th will feature a number of Lilac Festival events in downtown Spokane such as float viewing on 4th and Jefferson and the Cruzin' the Falls Car Show on Spokane Falls Blvd. throughout the afternoon. Following the Shock game at 4:00 p.m. at the Spokane Arena, fans will have plenty of time to make it downtown to view the Spokane Lilac Festival Armed Forces Torchlight Parade which will begin at 7:45 p.m. To view the festivals website, click here.
"It's great to see our community partners working together to create an amazing Lilac Festival Saturday," said Arena General Manager Matt Gibson. "Come see the Spokane Shock at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena then hit the Armed Forces Torchlight Parade downtown. It's a win-win for everyone."
The Shock's first home game will come on Saturday, April 4 at 7:00 p.m. PT at Spokane Veteran's Memorial Arena against the Philadelphia Soul.
Season tickets for the 10th Electrifying Season are currently on sale with packages starting as low as $99 for all nine (9) Shock home games.
