Spokane Shock News Release

SPOKANE, WA (March 21, 2015) - The Spokane Shock completed their 2015 training camp today with final roster cuts and have announced their 24-man active roster for the start of the AFL regular season.

The 24-man opening roster consists of 14 returning players from 2014, as well as Rushcard Dodd-Masters who has made his return to the field after serving as defensive backs coach on the Shock coaching staff last year.

Spokane's roster consists of ten players with three or more years of AFL experience, led by veteran offensive lineman Patrick Afif and defensive back Sergio Gilliam who have each played five seasons.

The defensive front leads all Shock position groups in terms of AFL experience with four of the five players listed having played three or more seasons. 2014 AFL Defensive Lineman of the Year James Ruffin will be joined by Shock returners in Derrick Summers (10.5 sacks in 2014) and Terrance Taylor (7 sacks in 2014), along with a new comer at mac-linebacker in three-year AFL veteran Matangi Tonga.

Beyond those with multi-year experience, the Shock's roster will feature eight players returning on rookie options that saw the field during the 2014 season. Defensive back Devon Dace is a new addition to the Shock roster, who spent his rookie AFL season with the Iowa Barnstormers in 2014.

The Shock have not yet been assigned a kicker to their roster for the regular season. The team will have to make room on their roster prior to their Week 1 game in order to create space for the addition.
