SPOKANE, Washington (September 17, 2015) - The Shock signed two additional players to their roster in preparation for the 2016 Indoor Football League season in offensive specialist Aaron Spikes and quarterback Charles Dowdell.

Aaron Spikes (RB/WR, 5-9, 200, Belhaven) joins the Shock for his rookie season as a member of the IFL. Spikes began his collegiate career at the University of Louisiana Layfayette where he recorded 1,100 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns during his freshman season and was named to the Sun-Belt All Freshman team. Spikes then transferred to Belhaven University where he would finish out his college career. After battling injuries his first two seasons on campus, he would return to the field healthy in 2014 for his senior year and again combine for 1,100 total yards of offense and nine touchdowns. He played his prep career at L.G. Pinkston High School in Dallas, Texas.

Charles "Chuck" Dowdell (QB, 6-0, 200, Saginaw Valley State) joins the Shock for his third season in the IFL. In 2015, Dowdell played for the Sioux City Bandits where he passed for 2,128 yards and 48 touchdowns with a 65 percent completion percentage and led the league with a QB rating of 117.1. He earned league MVP honors and was named to the First Team All-Conference roster while he also earned Offensive Player of the Week honors on four separate occasions. Dowdell also has the ability to play at the wide receiver position where he has spent time in various seasons over his career. During the 2014 season he spent time with the Bloomington Edge of the CPIFL, 2013 with the IFL's Green Bay Blizzard, and in 2012 was with the Bloomington Edge of the IFL. Dowdell started his collegiate career at Indiana State University before transferring and playing his final two seasons at Saginaw Valley State where he started in 21 games for the Cardinals and recorded 1,327 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 3,784 passing yards, and 27 passing touchdowns. He also participated in the 2010 All-American Bowl and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors. Dowdell played his prep career at Northrop High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
