Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that DB Damon Jenkins and OL Hercules Satele have been added to their 2009 roster. The Shock also traded LB Blair Boynton to the Amarillo Dusters for future considerations.

Jenkins, 5-11 195, was signed by the Cleveland Browns after finishing his collegiate career at Fresno State. In 33 games as a Bulldog, Jenkins recorded 93 tackles and three interceptions.

"He doesn't have the experience in the indoor game, but he certainly has the numbers and the abilities it takes to succeed in this league," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "We certainly think that he has the ability to be a big time player for us."

Satele, 6-2 322, was signed by the Arizona Cardinals after he finished at the University of Hawaii in 2008. At left guard, Satele was a key component of the Warrior's offensive line that finished first in the country scoring (46.2), second in passing (450.2), and third in total offense (529.2). His junior season, Satele was named first team all-WAC and a SI.com All-American.

"He's one of the strongest linemen we have ever signed," Shackleford explained. "But in addition to his size and strength he is very athletic. When he was with the Cardinals he played both left guard and center because of his athleticism."

Satele's brother, Samson, is the starting center for the Miami Dolphins.

Tickets for the 2009 season are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462. The Shock will open the season on April 3rd at the Spokane Arena on Spokane Tribe Field.
