Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced that WR Damon Morton has been added to their 2009 roster today.
Morton, 5-11 177, played at Colorado State University where he led the team in all receiving categories his senior season collecting 40 receptions for 774 yards and six touchdowns.
Morton's speed and versatility were also used on special teams as a returner. He finished his career with 3,694 all-purpose yards (ninth in the Mountain West Conference history, and third in CSU history).
"When we looked at his film, we saw an extremely speedy and elusive receiver. He catches the ball well and makes people miss after the catch; which is something that we look for in our offense," Head Coach Adam Shackleford said. "At Colorado State, he was used a lot on reverses, special plays, and kick returns so we really feel like we are getting a versatile player here."
Morton signed a free-agent contract with the Carolina Panthers shortly after the 2008 NFL Draft, and was released in July.
He is the 17th player on the Shock's 2009 roster. Season tickets are on sale now to the general public now and can be purchased by calling (509) 242 7462.
