Former Packer, Mad Dog and Superfoot Join Iron Coaching Staff

Former Green Bay Packer and NFL player Sammy Walker has been named the Defensive Backs Coach and Defensive Coordinator of the Milwaukee Iron, an arenafootball2 franchise. Walker played eight games at cornerback in 1993 for the Packers. He spent the last five seasons in Green Bay as a defensive coach with the Green Bay Blizzard. He learned Arena Football from former Milwaukee Mustang Coach Rick Frazier. Milwaukee Iron Coach and Director of Football Operations Gary Compton says Walker's teaches aggressive, smashmouth, get-after-it football. He is considered by many as the top defensive backs coach in Arena Football today.

Longtime af2 veteran Madison "Mad Dog" Johnson has been named the Offensive and Defensive Line Coach and Assistant Head Coach. Mad Dog spent nine years in the Arena Football League with the Florida Bobcats, Grand Rapids rampage and Philadelphia Soul. Iron Head Coach Gary Compton says Mad Dog is enthusiastic and a great technician who knows the inside line game better than anyone in the game today.

They call him Superfoot. Milwaukee Mustang kicker Kenny Stucker has been enlisted for part-time special teams work with the Milwaukee Iron. Stucker was the Arena Football League Kicker of the year in 1998. Stucker was a Mustang fan favorite. Iron Head Coach Gary Compton says Stucker will be working part-time with the organization using his knowledge of the kicking game and sharing insight with young kickers. Stucker is already in the Ball State Football Hall of Fame.

Gary Compton is the Milwaukee Iron Head Coach and Director Football Operations. He was elected to the East Texas State Football Hall of Fame in 2007. He spent seven seasons with the Milwaukee Mustangs (1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001). He spent 13 years in Arena Football. He earned an ArenaBowl Championship ring with the Tampa Bay Storm in 2003. He finished his playing career in 2004 with Philadelphia Soul. He was Head Coach and Director of Football Operations with the Bakersfield Blitz in 2006 and 2007. He spent 2008 as Head Coach and Director Football Operations of the Daytona Beach Thunderbirds. Gary also caught the last pass ever thrown by Joe Montana in a 49er uniform during a preseason practice in San Francisco. Compton was signed as an undrafted free agent with San Francicso in 1991.
