Spokane Shock News Release

SPOKANE, Wa (February 28, 2006)--- The Spokane Shock announced today that former Tennessee Titan and Central Washington University football stand-out Jake Roberts has been assigned by the Arena League office to their inaugural roster. To make room on the roster, Muhammad Shamsid-Deen was placed on reassignment.

Roberts, WR/LB, is no stranger to the Spokane area. He graduated in 1999 from University High School, where he was a first team All-Greater Spokane League selection in football.

In his 2003 senior season, Roberts was ranked among the NCAA Division II national leaders in receptions and receiving yards. He finished the season leading the Wildcats with 67 receptions for 838 yards and 12 touchdowns.

"Roberts is going to be great with this team. He's an extremely talented athlete- he has good footwork and the potential to create huge plays for us," said Head Coach Chris Siegfried, "It's great to see him come back to play in front of his home crowd."

Roberts was a unanimous selection in 2003 as a First Team All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference wide receiver. He was also one of three Wildcats to be selected to play in the 2004 Cactus Bowl, the NCAA Division II Senior All-Star Game.

"I'm feeling good about the upcoming season. I'm really excited to get back in the game and back in the area," said Roberts of playing for the Shock.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent to the Tennessee Titans for their 2004 season before being released in August of that year. This will be his first season playing for the arenafootball2 league.

Roberts is looking to kick off the season with the Spokane Shock on March 30th against the Stockton Lightning at 7 p.m. Season tickets and group tickets are available now online at www.spokaneshock.com or by calling 242-SHOCK.
