Orlando Predators News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Orlando Predators came to terms with two more players for the 2007 season, signing defensive specialist Lin-J Shell and WR/LB DeAndrew Rubin to one-year contracts according to Les Moss, the team's Player Personnel Director.

Shell played both defensive specialist and WR/DB for the Predators in 2006. He appeared in 10 games, making 47 tackles with two interceptions and six pass defenses. He also caught 12 passes for 103 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Shell is being penciled in as a defensive specialist for 2007.

Rubin played WR/LB for the Predators. In his rookie season, he caught 46 passes for 588 yards and 10 touchdowns, added 5 rushes for 34 yards and two more touchdowns and posted 17.5 tackles with an interception and two fumble recoveries. Rubin added kickoff return duties during the post-season, averaging 21.5 yards on eight returns - including Orlando's only kickoff return for touchdown during the season. Defensively he had 6.5 tackles with a fumble recovery, forced fumble and an interception that was returned for a touchdown.

"Lin-J is a terrific athlete who gained valuable experience in 2006," Moss said. "And - at age 24 - is still one of the youngest players on our roster. If he continues to develop, he has a chance to become an outstanding player."

Moss added that Rubin will compete for the job as the team's top kick returner. "DeAndrew really gave us a spark in the playoffs on kick returns," Moss added. "With his explosive speed, he has a lot of potential."

With the signings, the Predators now have 13 players under contract for the 2006 season.
