The Cataractes of Shawinigan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League have announced their intention today, in the presence of the commissioner Gilles Courteau, to present an outdoor match on the site of the Grand stand of the Festival Western St-Tite during the regular season on 2005 - 2006.

In regard of this news, the Cataractes organization and the one of the Festival Western concluded a partnership aiming at making concrete this plan. The file is in long-term stage, an organizing committee will need to be set up to assess the practicability of plan. The representatives of both organizations, who already met again and again, demonstrate a reasonable optimism to see plan becoming a reality. The official confirmation for the match, as well as all details being linked to it, will be confirmed later on.

With a capacity of 7 200 places, the Grand stand of the Festival Western St-Tite are the theatre, every September, of the presentation of professional rodeos of international renowned as part of the yearly activities of the Festival. The representatives of the Festival claimed to be very excited at the idea of introducing a match of Cataractes next winter there, creating a great happening with the participation of the "shawiniganaise" team.

Older concession of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Cataractes would be the first team of the Canadian League to hold an outdoor match while the regular season. The leaders of Cataractes think that this event will create an extraordinary feeling for all the population and the fans.
