SharX Bow to Silver Knights

February 9, 2012 - Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL)
Norfolk SharX News Release

Syracuse, New York - The Norfolk SharX left Syracuse with only four points after giving up 21 at the Oncenter Thursday night. Syracuse scored almost at will in New York, putting seven points on the board before Norfolk's Matthew Delic=A2te answered with 6:34 left in the second quarter. The Silver Knights then registered twelve more points when SharX second-leading scorer Matt Clare got on the board in the third minute of the fourth quarter. Nelson Santana added two more for Syracuse before the final whistle.

The SharX are not taking this lopsided loss in stride but are greatly anticipating the rematch February 14 at Norfolk Scope Arena at 7 p.m. The team is determined that there will be no repeat performance for Syracuse at the SharX Tank this Tuesday night. Norfolk got the better of Syracuse 12-11 on January 15 and the SharX know how to beat this team. More reasons to cheer on the team on Tuesday include the special Valentine's Day Celebration for our fans at Scope!

Tuesday night at Scope, the fans will be greeted not only by the SharX and the Mermaids for a Valentine's Day celebration, but Chum, the SharX mascot, will be performing a special Valentine's Day halftime dance routine for the fans.

One very special person will be receiving a $3,000 diamond ring courtesy of Long Jewelers. SharX fans were asked to tell us why their sweetheart deserves this wonderful ring and the winning answer may well result in a halftime proposal on the field. We're keeping that part a surprise!!!

To honor our troops and welcome home the Bataan Amphibious Readiness Group, ticket vouchers for buy one get one free tickets are available at Information Ticket and Tour (ITT) offices on base. For information, please call the SharX office at 757-419-3317.
