Sharks to Raise Funds for Wilmington Firefighters Foundation

The Wilmington Sharks are teaming up with Van Products Mobility in order to raise funds for the Wilmington Firefighters Foundation on Friday, June 8th . Join us as the Sharks host the Fayetteville SwampDogs at 7:05 at Buck Hardee Field in Wilmington.
Friday night at the Shark Tank we will also honor Captain Scott Rivenbark of the Wilmington Fire Department, who will attend the game with his wife of 15 years, Sarah and their daughter, Taylor. Captain Rivenbark has been with the Wilmington Fire Department for over 19 years and his wife Sarah, a Paramedic with New Hanover Regional Emergency Services for 18 years, and Pender Rescue seven years before that. For over half of their lives, Scott and Sarah have spent serving our community and our citizens when help was needed most.
On April 18th of this year, while off-duty and helping out a family member, Captain Scott Rivenbark was severely injured when he fell through a roof, paralyzing him from the waist down. The challenges and obstacles that now face Scott, Sarah and Taylor have changed a bit, and we as a community, have an extraordinary opportunity to show this family how grateful we are to them for their commitment and service to our community.
Tomorrow, the Sharks are wearing special Port City jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game with 100% of the proceeds going towards the Wilmington Firefighters Foundation.
