Martha's Vineyard Sharks News Release

The Martha's Vineyard Sharks are excited to announce their first player resigning for the 2012 baseball season. Former 2009 Gatorade "player of the year" in the state of Rhode Island and 2011 Martha's Vineyard Sharks & Futures Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Ryan Morris will close games once again for the Sharks. Morris was the Shark's closer during 2011 and is from Presbyterian College located in Clinton, South Carolina.

Morris was the bullpen's emotional leader last summer, posting a sparkling 1.62 ERA allowing only 3 runs the entire season while leading the league in saves with 9. His experience as a Futures Collegiate Baseball League closer will serve him well, as the league continues to accumulate a deeper talent pool of professional prospects going into 2012 as the league expands.

The Sharks are a summer, wood-bat, collegiate baseball team, operated by the Carminucci Sports Group who own and operate the Brockton Rox (Can-Am League). The Sharks strive to provide its fans, sponsors, and partners with the very best in competitive baseball and affordable entertainment before, during and after each game in a family-friendly atmosphere. The team is comprised of amateur, college baseball players from across New England (half the team must be from New England) and the rest of the country, showcasing their talents in front of Major League Baseball Scouts.
