Edenton, North Carolina-The Wilmington Sharks did not allow a single run in the final six innings of Thursday night's game on their way to defeating the Edenton Steamers 9-7 at Historic Hicks Field. The victory improved the Sharks to 2-4 on the season.

Maxx Harpalani came on in relief to begin the fourth inning. He pitched two shutout innings without allowing any hits. He also recorded two strikeouts. Henry Cartrett then came on to begin the sixth. He struck out the side in the sixth and seventh innings and struck out the first two hitters he faced in the eighth. He also recorded two additional strikeouts in the ninth to earn the win going four shutout innings with a total of ten strikeouts without allowing any hits.

With the game scoreless in the second, Cam Jenson hit a two-run double to put the Sharks on the board. After the Steamers got on the board in the bottom of the inning, Jakob Plastiak hit a solo home run to put the Sharks up 3-1. The Steamers then scored six in the bottom of the third to go up 7-3.

CJ Conrad drew a walk to lead off the top of the fourth. Jenson followed with another double to advance Conrad to third. Jonah Beamon then hit an RBI groundout to score Conrad cutting the deficit to 7-4. With two outs, Plastiak reached on a throwing error by Steamers' third baseman Justin Drpitch advancing Jenson to third.

Tucker Greer then singled home Jenson advancing Plastiak to second to cut it to two. Corey Everett then drew a walk loading the bases. A wild pitch advanced all three runners 90 feet and scored Plastiak cutting it to 7-6. Drew Yniesta reached on a fielding error by Drpitch scoring both Everett and Greer giving the Sharks an 8-7 lead. The Sharks extended their lead to 9-7 when Conrad hit a solo home run to lead off the fifth.

The Sharks will be back in action Friday night against the Morehead City Marlins at O'Neal Field at Big Rock Stadium. Caleb Bishop (0-1, 6.75) will start on the mound for the Sharks. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM.

The Sharks will return to Buck Hardee Field Saturday night against the Fayetteville SwampDogs. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05PM with the gates opening at 6PM.
