
Shamu Named MISL Offensive Player of the Week

DALLAS, Texas â Dallas Sidekicks forward Patrick Shamu has been named the MISL Offensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending October 13. Shamu receives the award after posting a 3-point goal, a pair of 2-point goals, and two assists for nine points last week.
The native of Kinshasa, Zaire produced all nine of his points in Dallas' 16-10 victory over Harrisburg on October 12. The 28-year-old forward played a part in five of the Sidekicks' seven total goals in the game, including notching the assist on Nick Stavrou's fourth-quarter game-winning score.
Shamu is currently tied for third in the MISL in both scoring with 11 points and in assists with four.
The Sidekicks (2-2) defeated Harrisburg 16-10 Saturday and lost to Baltimore 13-9 Sunday. Dallas plays at Philadelphia Saturday October 19 at 6:05 p.m. The game is on Fox Sports 1190 AM. The Sidekicks next home game at Reunion Arena is Sunday October 27 at 6:05 p.m.

Dallas forward Antonio Sutton registered three 2-point goals, an assist, and seven points vs. Harrisburg on October 12.
Harrisburg midfielder Marco Coria posted three 2-point goals and three assists for nine points in two games last week.
Philadelphia forward Joel Shanker scored three goals and registered seven points vs. Cleveland on October 13.
Defensive:
Harrisburg goalkeeper Doug Petras has been named the MISL Defensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending October 13. Petras receives the award after leading the Heat to a 13-7 victory at San Diego on October 11.
The Robert Morris graduate stopped 23 of 26 shots faced (.885 save percentage) while allowing just three goals in the win.
Petras currently leads the MISL in save percentage at .810 while ranking fourth in points against average at 9.07.

Baltimore goalkeeper Scott Hileman allowed 19 points in 119:27 of action last week.
Cleveland goalkeeper Jim Larkin stopped 33 of 43 shots faced while going 1-1 last week.
Milwaukee goalkeeper Victor Nogueira surrendered just eight points at Kansas City on October 12.
Philadelphia goalkeeper Peter Pappas allowed just two goals in Philadelphia's 13-5 win over Cleveland on October 13.
