The Pittsfield Suns (14-21) beat the Seacoast Mavericks 11-2 on Sunday at Wahconah Park after a six-run explosion in the seventh inning. The Pittsfield Suns scored in the seventh on a double by Thomas Hughes, a solo home run by Eric Hamilton, a single by Al Zachary, an RBI single by Zachary, a groundout by Colin Gimblet, and a three-run single by Kevin Donati. Zachary racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Pittsfield Suns. Craig Lacey put together a nice outing. Lacey held the Seacoast Mavericks (24-13) hitless over 5 2/3 innings, allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out three. Jack Fossand couldn't get it done on the bump for the Seacoast Mavericks, taking a loss. He lasted just five innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
