The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs (14-21) jumped on the Pittsfield Suns (13-21) early on their way to a 5-4 win on Saturday at Wahconah Park, scoring three runs in the first inning.
A three-run home run by Don Walsh delivered the runs in the first. The Wachusett Dirt Dawgs had three hits in the inning.
Walsh racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs.
The Pittsfield Suns couldn't get anything going so long as Scott Webster was on the hill. Webster held the Pittsfield Suns hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.
Eric Hamilton was hot from the plate for the Pittsfield Suns. Hamilton went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Naushon Galbraith got the win, running his season record to 1-2. He allowed one run over three innings. Galbraith struck out three, walked none and gave up four hits.
Brandon Shileikis (0-5) took the loss for the Pittsfield Suns. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
