Rox Take Two from League's Best Team

July 17, 2016 - Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL)
Brockton Rox News Release

The Rox welcomed the Worcester Bravehearts to Campanelli Stadium this weekend. Brockton fell to last place in the conference prior to this weekend, and consecutive games against the league's best team was a challenge.

After James Muse only allowed one run through 5 innings last night, it was Eric Keating's turn to try to one-up him. And he did. Keating managed to go 7 innings while also allowing just one run.

While Keating was dealing, the Rox struggled to get things going on offense. Brockton held a slim 2-1 lead through 5, and then the offense began to produce.

Brockton scored at least one run through from the 6th inning to their last at-bats in the 8th inning, including a 3-run 7th inning.

Alex Perry started the onslaught in the 6th inning when he drove in Ishmael Edwards. The 3-run 7th inning started with an RBI from Alex Shaver to score Eric Feliz. Ishmael Edwards then scored the last two runs with a single, and Dillon Cooper scored with an error by the first basemen.

Alex Perry put the nail in the coffin with a a home run to left field to give the Rox an 8-1 win.

The Rox improved to 17-21 on the year. Brockton's next game is Tuesday as they travel to Bristol to play the Blues (17-19). The Rox return to Campanelli Stadium on Friday when they take on the Nashua Silver Knights (23-13). First pitch is at 7:05. Come see the Rox in action and stick around for fireworks after!
