
Seventh Inning Dooms Roadrunners

EDINBURG, Texas - The Fort Worth Cats used a six-run seventh inning to help defeat the Edinburg Roadrunners 9-2 Monday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
Daniel Meeley got the Cats (21-19) on the board in the top of the fourth with an RBI single that scored Chris Ellison from third making it 1-0.
The Roadrunners (22-28) tied things up in the bottom of the sixth with a sacrifice fly from Fernando De Los Santos that allowed Agustin Septimo to score from third.
The Cats answered back in the top of the seventh as they scored six runs on five hits knocking Edinburg starter Curtis Camilli out of the game. Logan Brumley highlighted the inning with a bases clearing three-run double that helped make the score 7-1.
Camilli (4-4) allowed three runs in six innings pitched while striking out six as he took the loss.
After Edinburg added a run in the bottom of the seventh on a wild pitch, Fort Worth added two runs in the top of the eighth to push their lead 9-2.
Aaron Wilkerson (7-1) pitched eight innings while allowing just two runs on eight hits while striking out nine. Wilkerson earned his league-leading seventh win of the season.
James Giulietti then pitched a scoreless ninth giving Fort Worth the 9-2 victory.
The Roadrunners and Cats will wrap up their four-game series Tuesday night at Edinburg Baseball Stadium with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
