Colts-WhiteWings Game Postponed

San Angelo, Texas - Tonight's game between the San Angelo Colts and Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings has been postponed due to unplayable field conditions and the anticipated forecast of rain.
"This is the first time in my baseball career I have been okay with a rain out," general manager Dave Kost said. "San Angelo desperately needs the rain, and I am pleased the forecast was accurate."
As of Monday afternoon, the game will be made up as part of a doubleheader Tuesday night at Foster Field. The games are in jeopardy of being postponed again, however, due to more rain in the forecast.
If the rain holds up Tuesday, San Angelo and Rio Grande Valley will play two seven-inning games beginning at 6:05 p.m. The doubleheader will also complete the four-game series.
Tuesday is Legend Jewelers Diamond Dig and the San Angelo Chamber of Commerce Night. Ladies 18 and over can go on the field after the second game ends to dig for a pair of diamond earrings, courtesy of Legend Jewelers.
It will also be a $2 Tuesday, sponsored by Budweiser. All general admission tickets, longneck beers, sodas, hot dogs, popcorn, and peanuts will be just $2, courtesy of Budweiser.
The Colts are in the midst of a 12-game home stand. The home stand runs from Tuesday, July 9 through Saturday, July 20, and in that time the Colt face the Fort Worth Cats, Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings, and Edinburg Roadrunners. After this home stand, the Colts begin an eight-game road trip against the Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings and the Edinburg Roadrunners. The Colts then return home for their last 12-game home stand of the regular season on Tuesday, July 30.
