Lancaster JetHawks News Release
LANCASTER, Calif. - Seven JetHawks earned a spot on the South Division roster for the 2019 California League All-Star Game, the California League announced Friday.
First baseman Luis Castro, who leads the league in home runs (12) and a number of other offensive categories, was voted the starting first baseman.
The South's starting outfield will be made up entirely of JetHawks as Casey Golden, Matt Hearn and Ramon Marcelino were all voted into the starting lineup. Golden and Marcelino are tied for fourth in the league with nine home runs. Hearn leads the league in batting average and hits.
Left-hander Ryan Rolison was the lone Lancaster pitcher selected. His 3.15 ERA is the best among JetHawks starters.
Infielder Carlos Herrera and infielder/outfielder Sean Bouchard each made the club as reserves. Herrera has already amassed a career-high nine home runs this season while Bouchard ranks second with 15 doubles.
Lancaster tied with Rancho Cucamonga and Lake Elsinore for the most players selected to the South roster.
Votes for starters were cast by league managers, broadcasters, media members and club executives.
The All-Star Game will be played at San Manuel Stadium in San Bernardino on June 18.
