Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club is pleased to announce that seven new communities will benefit from the Centennial Legacy Fund. Over $30,000 was recently approved for Central Butte, Delisle, Esterhazy, Foam Lake, Lemberg, Raymore and Saskatoon for various improvements in their amateur football infrastructure.

The club announced earlier this year that $100,000 will be allocated to Regina Minor Football to support the Liebel Field refurbishment project along with another $100,000 to support the Hilltops and Saskatoon Minor Football with new field lights at Ron Atchison Field.

The Saskatchewan Roughrider legacy fund consists of profits generated from the Roughriders centennial celebrations held throughout 2010. The $650,000 fund was established to help support amateur football throughout Saskatchewan and will make an incredible impact on minor football across the province.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders are proud to be a community leader in our province and it's our goal to continue to make a difference in the lives of our fans. During the past year our players, coaches and staff made hundreds of community appearances and spent countless hours supporting charitable causes in every corner of the province. In 2010 the commitment provided by the Rider organization had a direct financial impact to not-for-profits and various charity groups of over $1.6 million.
