SAN DIEGO, CALIF July 21, 2005- Seth Pietsch, 23 year-old outfielder of the San Diego Surf Dawgs, has been selected as the California Division Player of the Week. Pietsch, out of Oregon State and the New York Mets farm system, continued his assault on GBL pitching as he hit for a .421 average during the week and led the GBL in Home Runs with 3 and RBIs with 12. He raised his season batting average to .388 and is becoming a legitimate triple crown threat.

"It has been exciting to watch Seth Pietsch perform each day as he has established himself as one of our leaders on the field," said Juliana Paoli, San Diego Surf Dawgs General Manager. "I truly believe that before the end of the season Pietsch has a good shot at being recognized by a Major League Organization."
