Seth Curry Signs with Cleveland Cavaliers

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed guard Seth Curry to a 10-day contract, the Cavaliers announced today. Curry's signing marks the tenth Call-Up in Santa Cruz Warriors history and the team's seventh of the 2013-14 season.

Curry, 23, has appeared in 36 games (35 starts) with the Santa Cruz Warriors this season, averaging 19.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.4 steals in 35.2 minutes. Curry owns the Santa Cruz Warriors all-time regular season records for most points scored in a game (36 vs. Austin on Nov. 22, 2013) and assists (13 at Los Angeles on Dec. 15, 2013). The 6-1, 185-pound guard earned a GATORADE Call-Up to the Memphis Grizzlies on Dec. 24, 2013, where he made his NBA debut on Jan. 5, 2014 against the Detroit Pistons.

Curry was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors on Nov. 1, 2013 via the affiliate rule after spending time with the Golden State Warriors in the preseason. A product of Duke, Curry appeared in 106 games (86 starts) over three seasons after transferring from Liberty, averaging 13.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists, shooting 42.0 percent from three-point range in 29.1 minutes. He earned First-Team All-ACC honors as voted on by the coaches as a senior at Duke and led all NCAA freshmen in scoring at Liberty, where he averaged 20.2 points and 4.4 rebounds in 35 games.
