Amarillo Bulls News Release
Albuquerque, NM - Lauri Sertti's overtime winner sealed the deal as the Amarillo Bulls defeated the New Mexico Ice Wolves 4-3 on Friday night.
Mid-way through the opening frame, the Bulls would take the 1-0 lead when Ty Black put home a backdoor rebound for his fourth of the season. Connor Kemp would find a quick answer for New Mexico, when he lifted a breakaway into the back of the net. Devan Tongue gave Amarillo the lead back with his sixth of the year on a rebound from a Jonathan Young shot.
Both sides would find the back of the net in the second period, as Matt Allen added to his team lead with his 14th goal of the season for Amarillo, tallying the goal on the powerplay, and Alex Dominique would tuck home a short, walk-in chance to bring the Ice Wolves within a single goal.
The lone scoring in the third period would come by way of New Mexico's Sean Henry, who would tie the game at 3-3 with a long wrist shot from the blue line.
In the overtime period, Lauri Sertti sped forward and tucked home the game winning goal while falling down. The goal would be the Amarillo defenseman's fifth tally of the season.
With the win, the Bulls are now 22-5-1-2 and hold 47 points and second place in the South Division. The team remains just two points back of the Lone Star Brahmas for the division lead.
The Bulls will remain on the road on Saturday, December 21 to take on the New Mexico Ice Wolves. Mark Shelley will broadcast the game from the Spicy Mike's Bar-B-Q Broadcast Booth, and the action will begin at 8:00PM CST on 107.1 Nash Icon and Hockey TV.
