Series Shifts To Everett

The Spokane Chiefs will take their 2-0 lead in the first round of the playoffs on the road this week with the next three games in Everett. The Silvertips will host games three, four and five, if necessary, on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Spokane held serve on their home ice last weekend with wins on Friday and Saturday. The two games were played in front of 11,231 fans including 6,529 on Saturday, the largest first round crowd since the 1997 post-season.

The Chiefs earned a 5-2 win on Friday after scoring four power play goals, two by Drayson Bowman, in eight chances. Trevor Glass, who was playing his first playoff game as a Chief after 44 in Medicine Hat, had a pair of assists and was selected as the games second star. Mitch Wahl and Ondrej Roman also had a pair of helpers.

Roman scored twice on a pair of David Rutherford assists Saturday night in leading Spokane to a 4-1 win.

On average, the Chiefs have outshot Everett 44-24.5 in the series and Dustin Tokarski has a .939 save percentage and 1.50 goals against average. Seven different players have scored goals and 12 have contributed at least one point with Roman leading the way with his two goals and two assists.

Mike Boyle will go on the air on KJRB 790 the Fan on Wednesday night with Comcast Hockey Tonight at 6:30. Gametime is scheduled for 7:00.

Spokane's two wins guarantees that they will play at least one more home game, whether that be in game six on Tuesday, April 1st, or game one of the second round of the playoffs.
