Edmonton Capitals News Release
Edmonton Capitals (9-7) vs. Chico Outlaws (6-10)
Wednesday, June 15 through Friday, June 17 (TELUS Field)
Fresh off a solid 3-2 series victory against the Lake County Fielders, your Edmonton Capitals continue their 2011 home schedule this week with a three-game series against the Chico Outlaws Wednesday through Friday at TELUS Field, with all games starting at 7 p.m.
Tomorrow's series opener against the Outlaws is another K-97 Wiener Wednesday, with those mouth-watering ballpark hot dogs on sale for just $2 all night.
Thursday's game is another installment of Thirsty Thursdays presented by Hudsons Canadian Tap House, The Bear and Virgin Radio, featuring $3 beer.
And Friday's series finale is the second Fireworks Friday of the season presented by 92.5 JOE FM, featuring an outstanding post-game fireworks display.
The Capitals currently sit in second place in the North American League's North Division standings, 2.5 games back of Lake County. The Outlaws are off to a tough start at 6-10, but they closed out their series against the Calgary Vipers with a win on Sunday.
Edmonton's pitchers have been mowing down the opposition lately, as they've struck out a remarkable 47 batters in their last four outings, highlighted by 10 strikeouts from Sherwood Park's own Lou Pote on Monday against the Lake County Fielders. That's an average of almost 12 per game! The Capitals' bats haven't been too shabby either, led by first baseman Brent Metheny, who ranks third in the NAL with a .426 batting average.
The Capitals are the city's most affordable entertainment option in the summer featuring Edmonton's largest patio! Season seats start at less than $9 per seat. Individual game tickets start at $10 in advance and can be purchased at the Capitals Box Office (10233 - 96 Ave) during regular business hours Monday through Friday, at any Ticketmaster location, online at capsbaseball.ca or via phone at 780-414-GOAL (4625).
