Senators Score Early, Shutout Richmond

Harrisburg Senators News Release


The Harrisburg Senators scored three first inning runs en route to beating the Richmond Flying Squirrels 4-0 Friday night at FNB Field. Four Sens pitchers combined to shutout Richmond with Lucas Knowles earning the win. The Senators added a run in the second inning on a home run by Paul Witt. The home run was the last hit in the game for Harrisburg.

The Big Play

With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the first inning, Israel Pineda doubled down the left field line bringing in all three runs and giving the Sens a 3-0 lead.

Filibusters

The Senators turned three inning-ending double plays... Richmond outhit the Senators 7-3... Tyler Schoff tossed two scoreless innings to run his streak to 9.0 scoreless innings to start the season... Israel Pineda has a five-game hit streak... Paul Witt hit a solo HR in the second, his second HR this season.

The Senators and Richmond Flying Squirrels play game five of their six-game series Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The game can be heard on 1400am, 96.5 FM, & 95.3 FM, Sports Radio Harrisburg, beginning at 5:45 p.m.
