Senators Drop Opener to Ducks

Jackson, MS; August 18, 2003 – The Jackson Senators dropped game on of a three game series to the Springfield/Ozark Mt. Ducks Monday night 5-2. Adam Montarbo (4-4) for the second straight game vs. the Senators threw a complete game, yielding only two runs on 11 hits. Nick Vanderiff (4-7) took the loss, going six innings, allowing five runs on 10 hits. The Senators offensively pounded out 11 hits, yet the huge stat of the night, was Jackson leaving 13 men on base. Keto Anderson remained hot, going 2-5 with a run scored. In all four Senators had multi hits in the loss. The Senators with the loss dropped back into a tie for first place on the second half with the Ft. Worth Cats who beat the WhiteWings. Jackson is now 25-18 on the half and 56-35 overall for the season. The Mt. Ducks ran their record to 16-27 during second half play and 39-52 on the season.

Next home game: Will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2003, as it will be "US 96 Two-for-Tuesday," with $1.00 drink specials on both draft soft drinks and draft beer. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. with the gates opening at 6:00 p.m.
