Ducks Win Two of Three

Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks News Release


The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks spent the weekend with the Alexandria Aces. The Ducks took the Aces the first two nights, however, the Aces won on the third.

On Friday, August 15, Adam Wheeler (2-3) took the win with Mark Hickey taking the save. The Ducks only allowed one run in the first four innings when the Ducks scored five runs in the fifth. The sixth inning was intense as the Ducks scored two runs only to have the Aces score four more run. The Ducks won 8-6.

Saturday, August 16 brought another win against the Aces. Mark Hickey (1-1) took the win with Corey Hennessy taking the save. The Ducks and Aces were tied at the end of the third inning. Anticipation grew as the Ducks scored four runs in three innings to the Aces three runs. The Ducks won with a close 6-5 score.

The Ducks didn't fair so well on Sunday, August 17. Alexandria finally took a win at this homestand with a knockout score of 12-7. Gary Hall (3-3) took the loss and Kenny Rayborn (1-3) took his first win. The Ducks and Aces were tied 3-3 at the end of the third inning. However, the Aces scored six runs in the fourth, another three run in the sixth, only to have the Ducks score three runs.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The Springfield/Ozark Mountain Ducks will be playing their last away games against the Jackson Senators Monday-Wednesday. They return home for their final homestand Thursday-Saturday.

Friday, August 22 is Kids Appreciation Nite and Girl Scout Nite. Baseball's will be given to the first 1000 fans-14 years old and younger. Girl Scouts will get in for free.

Saturday, August 23 is Fan Appreciation. Team posters will be given to the first 1000 fans. Players will be signing autographs, fireworks beginning after the game and prizes will be given all night long!
