Jackson Senators News Release
Jackson, MS; May 30 2004 â Jackson once again found themselves trailing early in the ballgame and Shreveport scored first today just as they have every game this series. The Sports scored one run in the 3rd inning on a solo homerun off the bat of Jose Gonzalez. The Sports continued to use the long ball in the 5th inning with a 2 run shot by Derrick Patterson, which made the score 3-0. The Senators came from behind to make it a one run game in the bottom of the 5th, as Azarious Corbeil and Matt Sanchez both doubled to lead off the inning and both scored after a single by Selwyn Langaigne. The one run lead would be increased however when Shreveport scored one run in the 7th and 8th innings. The Senators were able to manage one more run when Tyson Boston homered, but the 5-3 score would be as close as the Senators would get. Josh Gold hurled 7 K's and picked up his 3rd win of the year, with Jackson's Nick Vandegriff picking up the loss. Shreveport wins the 3 game series 2-1.
Next home game: Monday, June7th vs. Coastal Bend â Pepsi Rock 93.9 Billboard Mania/$1 Beverages.
