Sellout Crowd Enjoys Festive Night

Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release
A sellout crowd of 5,038 watched the Blue Wahoos play in special camo jerseys which were auctioned off throughout the game to raise money for Andrew's Institute's Eagle Fund to help wounded members of our military. A first pitch by local star and Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Josh Sitton kicked off the fun and excitement before the game. After the game, the special jerseys were given to the auction winners right off the players' backs. Following that, another outstanding fireworks show capped a fun night at the park.
Unfortunately, the action on the field didn't match the other activities taking place on Saturday night. The Blue Wahoos led most of the way before the Braves plated five runs in the top of the eighth to beat the fish 7-3. Andrew Means blasted his first home run of the year, in the losing effort.
The two teams wrap up the series on Sunday afternoon. After the game, kids get to run the bases and fans can play catch on the field with our Family Toss presented by McDonalds! First pitch is set for 2:00 with gates opening at 12:30. If you can't make it out to the stadium, you can catch the game online with MiLB.tv or on the radio with Tommy Thrall and Andrew Green on 1450 ESPN Pensacola.
