Adirondack Frostbite News Release
Glens Falls, NY â The Adirondack Frostbite, member of the United Hockey League (UHL), today signed right wing Trevor Segstro, it was announced by Frostbite Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Marc Potvin. This will be Segstro's first full season with the Frostbite after joining Adirondack through a trade with Elmira towards the end of the 2003-04 season. As per team policy, terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.
Segstro, 25, is playing in his second pro season. In 51 games last year, Segstro had 29 points (13g, 16a) with 30 penalty minutes. Three of those games were with the Portland Pirates (AHL). The Calgary, Alberta native finished 15th in the league amongst rookie scorers even after missing 24 games due to injury and call-up.
"Trevor is a versatile player who adds size to our group of forwards," said Potvin. "He proved in a very short period of time last year that he will be valuable to our team."
From 1998 to 2003, Segstro skated for the University of Calgary where he averaged almost a point per game. The 6'1'' 210-pounder started last season in the Binghamton Senators training camp.
Segstro is the eighth player to sign with the Frostbite for the 2004-05 season. He joins left wing Hugo Belanger, right wing Frank Littlejohn, center Sylvain Cloutier, defensemen Scott Drevitch, Kamil Kuriplach and Henrik Bergfors and goalie Derek Gustafson.
