Waterloo Black Hawks News Release

Waterloo, Iowa-For the third time in ten years, the Waterloo Black Hawks are preparing to meet the Omaha Lancers in a United States Hockey League Clark Cup playoff series, with the best-of-five set beginning this weekend at Omaha's Civic Auditorium.

The Black Hawks advanced from the first round of the playoffs with a sweep of the Tri-City Storm, completed by a 3-2 win Tuesday night at Young Arena. Omaha bypassed the first round thanks to their second place finish in the USHL Western Conference.

Games One and Two will be at Civic Auditorium this Friday and Saturday. Game Three will be at Young Arena on Friday, April 27th, with Game Four, if necessary, the following night also in Waterloo. Should the series be pushed to its limit, Game Five will be back in Omaha on Sunday, April 29th.

Waterloo and Omaha are meeting in the playoffs for the first time since the 2008 Clark Cup finals. That best-of-five series went to its full duration, and into overtime in Game Five, before the Lancers claimed the championship. Omaha also downed the Hawks during a second round series in 2003.

Tickets for games at Young Arena will be available from the Black Hawks Box Office beginning next week. Visit waterlooblackhawks.com for updates on specific box office hours.
