Orlando SeaWolves News Release
ORLANDO, FL: Following their first win of the season, the Orlando SeaWolves will travel out to Lakeland, Florida to the RP Funding Center to take on their in-state rivals, the Florida Tropics on Saturday evening at 7:05 p.m. EST. The match will be televised online at masl.tv.
"This is a team that can score goals, they've proven that," Head Coach Tom Traxler said after training on Wednesday. "Now, they had a tough outing against a very good Milwaukee Wave team, probably one of the best teams in the league at keeping possession. So, possession for us is going to be very important. We're going to have to be good defensively, but we're also going to have to continue the work that we did going forward and keep finding that goal scoring form that we've established against Mississauga."
For Orlando, this will be their first road game of the 2018-19 season. The SeaWolves previously opened the season with a three-game homestand, which they went 1-2 overall. They will also be playing with new acquisition Thiago Freitas, who was traded from the Harrisburg Heat on Monday.
The Tropics are coming off a 7-2 loss against the Milwaukee Wave last weekend. Their leading scorer, Guilherme Dos Santos, has seven goals and two assists so far this season.
This will be the first of six games the SeaWolves and Tropics will play against each other this season. The first three games will be in Lakeland, while the final three games, including the season finale, will be in Orlando.
The SeaWolves will play their next game January 12th once again in Lakeland, as they have one full week in between games against the Tropics. Kickoff for that will once again be 7:05 p.m EST.
