Orlando SeaWolves News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando SeaWolves played their first of three road games on their final road trip of the season against the Kansas City Comets. After a hot first half, the SeaWolves offense failed to register a goal in the second half, while the hosts scored four unanswered to win 8-4.
After getting out into the lead early with a goal from Jeff Michaud, Kansas City responded minutes later. Orlando came right back moments later and scored through Eduardo Cruz, after a pass off the wall from Michaud found the midfielder in the penalty area. Kansas City once again found the equalizer, but Kevin Naranjo found his scoring form as he netted back-to-back goals to put the visitors up 4-2 after the first quarter.
To begin the second, Rapha Tobias smashed home his own rebound to make it 5-2 Orlando after just a minute gone in the quarter. The Comets responded, scoring two to pull it back to a one-goal game, but Jeff Michaud buried a free-kick from just outside the arc to restore a two-goal cushion for Orlando. That scoreline head to halftime, as Orlando took a 6-4 lead into the locker room
Both teams came out of the locker room to start the second half, but Orlando failed to replicate the success they had found just 15 minutes prior. Kansas City scored two goals in the third quarter to tie it up, then two more in the fourth to put the game away as the SeaWolves dropped another close one, 8-6.
Next up, the SeaWolves will play their last two of the three-game road trip as they travel to Milwaukee to play on Saturday and Sunday. The Saturday game will kick off at 7:07 ET, while Sunday's match will start at 2:07. Both will be broadcast on masl.tv.
