Orlando SeaWolves News Release

Orlando, FL - In a back and forth affair, the Orlando SeaWolves kept it close late in the game, but ultimately could not pull out the win, falling to the St. Louis Ambush 8-7.

"We really wanted to get a win tonight," Head Coach Tom Traxler said after the game. "It's little things right now. Little things tonight that kept us from doing that."

St. Louis struck first just three minutes into the game, but Rapha Tobias pulled one back to tie the game. Again, both teams traded goals as the Ambush scored to take the lead, but Daniel Jackson pulled the game level again for the SeaWolves.

Jeff Michaud scored early in the second to give Orlando the lead, but again St. Louis came back four minutes later to equalize. Towards the end of the half, Orlando was able to capitalize when Luiz Mota put the home side up and Eduardo Cruz notched another to put Orlando up 5-3 heading into the locker room.

The Ambush started the second half with a bang, scoring twice to tie the game at 5-5 just five minutes into the quarter. Luiz Mota scored his second of the match to once again give Orlando the lead heading into the fourth, but that would be the last lead Orlando would have.

After bringing in keeper Paulo Nascimento, St. Louis played more aggressively, scoring three straight to take an 8-6 lead. A rocket of a shot from Jeff Michaud pulled Orlando to within one, but they could not find the equalizer.

Next up, the SeaWolves will host the Baltimore Blast for the second time this season on Thursday, January 30th. That game will kick off at 7:35 p.m. and will be broadcast on masl.tv.
