Orlando SeaWolves News Release

Orlando, Florida - Ahead of their first home game of 2020, the Orlando SeaWolves have signed two players: midfielders Abdullah Alzubaidi and Ryan Sandidge. Per team and league policies, no further details were disclosed.

Alzubaidi was born in Baghdad, Iraq, but emigrated to the U.S. He spent his high school career at Armwood High School in Tampa. Prior to that, he played for both Al-Zawra'a SC and Al Shorta in Iraq.

"I'm so pleased to give Abdullah his first pro contract," Head Coach Tom Traxler said, "He's worked hard for it, he listens, and he's a good technical player that adapts well to the indoor game. He's extremely likable and his energy is infectious. Very pleased to have someone that has played for our reserve team move up the ranks to the first team."

Sandidge is a local product out of Winter Park High School, where he played for SeaWolves head coach Tom Traxler. He most recently graduated from the University of West Florida, where he started in 16 of 17 games played.

"Obviously having the chance to work with Ryan again is exciting," Traxler said. "He's moved on from strength to strength in his career. He's very calm on the ball and has just the right amount of tenacity that I like. I'm excited to work with him again."

Both players will be eligible for tonight's game against the St. Louis Ambush. Kickoff is set for 7:35 p.m.
