Everett Silvertips News Release

KENT, Wash. - Coming off a six-day rest, the Everett Silvertips returned to action against their I-5 rivals, the Seattle Thunderbirds. With a rested squad and a revamped lineup coming off the WHL Trade Deadline on Friday, it just wasn't the Silvertips night as Everett dropped Saturday's game 4-3 to Seattle before 6,160 fans on Saturday night at accesso ShoWare Center.

The Tips had their goal scoring come from Cole Fonstad, Gage Goncalves and Jackson Berezowski, while taking the edge in the face-off circle, 39-30. Connor Roulette lead the Thunderbirds with a multi point game and helped set up the eventual game winning goal early in the third period by Keltie Jeri-Leon.

Bryce Kindopp had an assist to move past Kevin Davis, into 9th all time for Silvertips points.

UP NEXT: The Tips return to the Angel of the Winds Arena on January 12th for their only meeting of the season against the Regina Pats. It's Beanie Hat Giveaway presented by BECU so be sure to get there early as puck drop is 4:05 pm (KRKO / WHL Live)

It was a physical first period as both teams got several good checks in on one another. With the score tied and the period coming closer to an end Cole Fonstad put home a loose puck past Roddy Ross to give Everett a 1-0 lead at 17:10.

Fonstad's goal, with an assist from Bryce Kindopp, didn't hold up for too long as T-Birds' forward Conner Roulette scored his 14th goal of the season on the power play two minutes later. Since it was Teddy Bear toss night at the ShoWare Center, fans showered the ice with teddy bears after Roulette scored, forcing the first intermission break to start earlier than usual with 54.9 seconds left.

After the break was done, the remaining 55 seconds of the first period weres played and it was looking good for Everett. At the 19:50 mark of the first, Gage Goncalves put Everett ahead with his first goal since January 1st. In the second period, netminder Dustin Wolf was at his busiest as he faced 9 shots in the middle frame. However, former Silvertip Max Patterson scored on Wolf 14:01 into the second. With the score tied, 2-2, Conner Burggen-Cate gave Seattle their first lead of the game two and a half minutes after Patterson's goal as Bruggen-Cate scored his 11th of the season on the power play.

Seattle was ahead 3-2 going into the final 20 minutes and they added another goal 1:02 in the third with Keltie Jeri-Leon scoring the eventual game-winner on a pass to the front of the net.

Jackson Berezowski would score another for the Silvertips with 6:50 left in the third to make it a 4-3 game coming down the home stretch. However, Everett did not score again and dropped their second straight game against Seattle this season.
