Season Ticket Holders Treated To Day In The Park

Mississippi RiverKings News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS --- The Mississippi RiverKings hosted a Season Ticket Holder Summer Bash this past Saturday at Latimer Park in Horn Lake. The air may have been hot that day, but much of the discussion was about what would transpire on a cold sheet of the ice in about two months. The party was an exclusive perk for RiverKings season ticket holders only and is one of the many benefits to being a season ticket holder. The RivertKings' 2007-2008 season opener is on October 19 at the DeSoto Civic Center.

"I thought it was a great event and there was a great turnout," RiverKings season ticket holder Phillip Santucci said. "The music and food were outstanding. I think the RiverKings staff went above and beyond to make it a fun day for us season ticket holders. I know I speak for all the fans when I say that we can't wait for the season to start in October."

Santucci was one of many RiverKings season ticket holders that came to enjoy the food, music and fun. The people on hand ranged from fans that have been season ticket holders since 1992 and those that have just come on board this summer for the upcoming season.

"The RiverKings organization thanks all of those season ticket holders that braved the hot weather and then the storms," RiverKings Director of Business Operations Dave Mattice said. "We also want to thank Natural Born Grillers, My Inflatable Adventure, The Kings Court Booster Club, the live band as well as the City of Horn Lake for the use of the Latimer Park pavilion."

Natural Born Grillers served their award winning barbecue while the live music was courtesy of Charlie Belt and Brian Penlec. My Inflatable Adventure in Southaven set up two of their moon bounce inflatables for the children in attendance to jump and slide on while the Kings Court Booster Club provided drinking water and desserts.

The entire event was free of charge for season ticket holders and guests.

"We really wanted to give the season ticket holders a chance to get together during the off-season to mix and mingle with each other, RiverKings players and staff members," RiverKings staff member Maggie Biedenharn said. "One of our biggest goals this year is to really increase the value of purchasing a RiverKings season ticket by including benefits on top of just the seat itself."

The RiverKings open their 16th season of hockey in the Mid-South on Friday, October 19 when they host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs at 7:05 at the DeSoto Civic Center. Season tickets for that game and the other 31 regular season home games are available now by calling the RiverKings office at 662-342-1755.

"Being a season ticket holder is not just about having the same seat for every single home game," Biedenharn said. "There are many benefits that are encompassed in the season ticket package and these season ticket holder only parties are only one of these."

A RiverKings season ticket for 2007-2008 includes the same seat for all 32 home games with the option to purchase that seat for the playoffs. Along with that, season ticket holders receive RiverKings merchandise discounts, opportunities to attend exclusive season ticket holder events (like the party on Saturday), team email newsletters, buy-one-get-one-free tickets for road games at Bossier-Shreveport during the regular season and five "bring-a-buddy for free" coupons that can be used during the regular season and playoffs. Unused season tickets can also be redeemed for tickets to any regular season or playoff game.
