
Season High in Runs and Hits (And Time of Game) Propel Storm to 14-8 Win

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif - The longest game of the season (4:03) for the Padres' affiliate also was the most productive of 2019. The Storm scored in six of nine innings while posting season highs in hits (19) and runs in a 14-8 win against the Dodgers' affiliate, Rancho Cucamonga.
The game was tied 4-4 after four innings, but the Storm scored nine runs over the next two innings to surge in front, defeating the Quakes for the third time in 12 meetings and even the five-game series at one game apiece.
Five different Lake Elsinore batters had at least three hits, led by 1B Olivier Basabe going 4-6 with three RBI and two runs scored. CF Aldemar Burgos, in his 2019 Cal League debut, shined with the glove and the bat, making a spectacular play in center field at the wall in the bottom of the first and then slugging a two-run home run in his first at bat of the game. The 22-year-old from Puerto Rico finished 3-5 on the night with four RBI as the Storm snapped a three-game losing streak while also ending Rancho's winning streak at six games.
Starter Caleb Boushley struck out seven in four innings, followed by relievers RHP Nick Kuzia, LHP Fred Schlichtholz and RHP Evan Miller. Miller, the All-Star closer, was credited with the win to improve to 2-1 while lowering his ERA to 1.20 on the season.
The Storm improved their record to 33-32 with three games remaining in the first half.

Storm Team: The previous season-best in runs and hits occurred April 8 in Lancaster in an 11-2 victory at The Hangar when all nine Storm batters had a hit, combining for 17 total hits against the Jethawks.
