Seals Team with Hotties Gourmet Donuts

A different type of fund raising effort has Orlando Seals all time leading goal scorer B.J. Stephens promoting donut sales for the benefit of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Florida.

Hotties Gourmet Donuts, in Altamonte Springs has created the "Stephens Special", and will donate 20 percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Stephens Special to the Big Brothers /Big Sisters program. The Stephens Special is now available at Hotties Gourmet Donuts.

"We wanted to do something that would be different and help tie our product in with the Seals for all the great work they've done in the community," Hotties Gourmet Donuts marketing director Ken Ungaro said. "We're proud to be promoting a great team and great player like B.J. Stephens with such a delicious product."

Stephens is flattered to have the tasty treat named in his honor. "I thought this was a cool idea and was really glad to be part of it. And to be able to help Big Brothers /Big Sisters is also a good thing. I love doing anything that can help kids," Stephens said.

"This is a great boost for us as we grow our programs in the Central Florida area," Mary Grace Murphy, C.E.O. of Big Brothers /Big Sisters of Central Florida said. "With the recent merger of the Central Florida BBBS agency and BBBS ofus recently adding Brevard County to our region, this publicity and fundraising effort with the Seals and Hotties Gourmet Donuts is a great way for us to increase awareness of our agency and generate additionalget attention and some extra funding for our programs."

The Seals return to action against the Alabama Slammers on Thursday at TD Waterhouse Centre at 7:05 p.m. It will be Real Radio Thirsty Thursday with Drew Garabo broadcasting live from the game. On Saturday the Seals host the Jacksonville Barracudas at 7:35 p.m. That game the Seals will be collecting coats in the KOOL 100 Coats For Kids Program, and also holding their annual Teddy Bear Toss for Toys for Tots.

All Seals games can be heard via the internet at www.IRN.FM. In addition, Thursday's game against Alabama and Fridays' game at Macon will be aired an AM 740 The Team.
