Book Ends: The Orlando Seals wrap up this week, the way they started it, playing host to the Macon Trax, who visited Orlando last Sunday.
Records: The Seals are 22-13-5 with 49 points tied for third place in WHA2.
Macon is 18-18-5 with 41 points in fifth place in WHA2.
Season Series: The Seals have a 4-3 series edge over Macon this season. Four of the previous seven games have been decided by one goal, and the Seals won one game in a shootout. Macon won the most recent meeting, 2-1 last Sunday in Orlando.
Recent Results: The Seals are coming off a 9-4 loss to Miami Thursday night. Macon also played Thursday night, dropping a 3-0 decision at Jacksonville. Tonight is the final game of eight straight road games for Macon.
Power Play: Seals 32-167 19.2% 5th Macon 36-187 19.3% 4th
Penalty Kill: Seals 117-149 78.5% 3rd Macon 163-191 85.3% 1st
Welcome Back: Goaltender David Goverde, who hasn't played since suffering a knee injury on February 10th, is expected to be the Seal starting goaltender tonight. Mike Correia continues his recuperation form a knee injury. Sean Varriale is expected to be the Seals back up goaltender tonight.
On The Shelf: The Seals will be without wingers Jamie Muswagon and Simon Duplessis who both suffered concussions Thursday night against Miami. Muswagon (who also suffered a broken nose when elbowed by Tom Quilty) is listed as day to day, while Duplessis is out indefinitely.
Charging Up: The Seals power play which had been struggling has shown signs of coming back to life. The Seals had three power play goals on Sunday in six opportunities. In the last four games the Seals are 6-for-14 (42.9%) on the power play.
Next Up: The Seals travel to Lakeland tomorrow for a 4:05 p.m. start. Note the time change to the 4:05 p.m. face off time. That game will be joined in progress on AM 740 The Team, early in the first period. It is also available, as all Seals games are, on www.IRN.FM.
