Florida Seals News Release
You wouldn't know it's the "off-season" by the buzz of activity around the Orlando Seals office this weekend. The Seals have two appearances set for Saturday September 27th.
Orlando's reigning professional championship team will have a booth set up at the downtown Orlando Farmers Market from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. And shoppers who stop by the Farmers Market will be able to visit with Seals head coach Jim Paek. Paek will be at the Seals table from 10 a.m. to noon. The Farmers Market is located at Magnolia and Central.
The other event on Saturday morning is Sealvester, the Seals, lovable mascot, attending the second Annual Dare Carnival & Parade at Waterford Lakes Town Center. Sealvester will be marching with the youngsters in the parade that begins at 9:30 a.m. He will then be wandering through the D.AR.E. carnival event.
"These are two great events for us to be involved with," Seals general manager Brian Fling said. "We love to be involved with the downtown activities because we're such a vibrant part of downtown with 30 games a year at TD Waterhouse Centre. And the D.A.R.E. program is a natural one for the Seals to be involved with because we can shows kids the benefits of a drug free lifestyle."
The Seals begin the 2003-04 WHA2 season on Saturday November 8th at TD Waterhouse Centre against the Lakeland Loggerheads. Season tickets for the reigning President Cup champion Orlando Seals are now on sale. For further information, contact the Seals at (407) 447-PUCK (7825).
