Florida Seals News Release
[KISSIMMEE, Fla.] -The Florida Seals made a roster move heading into their three game weekend. Forward Rob Sich has been added to the roster and will wear number 20.
Sich comes to Florida after starting the season with Flint in the United Hockey League (UHL). The 6-foot 190-pounder played in six games registering one point and four penalty minutes. Head Coach Tommy Stewart expects the newest Seal to work hard and add to the scoring punch the Seals are looking for.
"Rob scored over 40 goals in juniors so I know he can put the puck in the net," said Stewart. "He will also be a guy that can work hard in the corners for us and make a difference moving the puck."
To make room on the roster the Seals have waived Don Patrick. The rookie played in six games and scored one goal. Patrick's goal was historic as it was the first goal ever scored in the Silver Spurs Arena.
The Seals have a busy weekend ahead with three home games on the slate. Thursday Knoxville comes to town for another "Thirsty Thursday" featuring $1 beers. Friday and Saturday Jacksonville invades the Silver Spurs Arena. Get there early both nights as Friday will be "Xero Graphics/Seals Ice Girls Poster Night" and Saturday is "Coggin Cheerstix Night."
Also on Saturday fans are asked to bring a canned food item to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank Of Central Florida. Every fan that brings a canned good will receive a free ticket to the January 11 game. The puck drops at 7:35 pm for each game.
